With sad hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Harrison on Thursday, March 13,
2025, at the age of 89.
Born in Woodstock, Ontario to the late Frederick and Ethel Harrison, Joan was predeceased by her cherished sister, Beatrice Lithgow, brother-in-law, Earl Lithgow, and most recently her beloved cousin Sylvia Wright of Mitchell.
Joan will be remembered fondly by her nieces, Cathy Kosmyna (Gene), Lorraine Nolan (John), Diane Cvetich (Joe), and Janet Smitjes (Brian) and her cousins Jim Harrison (Carol) and Eileen McGarvey. She will also be missed and warmly remembered by her cousin-in-law Chris Wright, whose visits during her final months brought her joy and opportunities to reminisce.
A longtime resident of London, Ontario, Joan lived life on her own terms. She enjoyed a fulfilling career with Aukland Limited before embracing retirement to fully indulge in her passions. When she wasn’t going on one of her many adventures travelling the world, she kept busy knitting and crafting beautiful greeting cards. We all loved receiving a “Joan one-of-a-kind card” when she sent her holiday greetings. As travelling became less feasible, she found joy closer to home
through bingo lunches with friends and volunteering at her local Boys and Girls Club.
Joan’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of the West Perth Village Seniors Community in Mitchell, Ontario. We very much appreciate the care she received and the friendships she formed in her final years.
