October 5, 1941 – May 8, 2025
Peacefully passed at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Thursday, May 8th, 2025 at the age of 83 years.
Beloved husband of the late Grace (2022) for 58 years. Loving Father of Gerry (Heather) and Diana (Luke) Savard. Devoted grandfather of Ethan (Jessecca), Nicole Lapp and Calvin Lapp and great-grandfather of Madeline. Forever loved by his brothers and sisters; late Sid (Carol), late Ann (Bev), Rudy (Peggy), Peter (Nancy), Annieka, James (Cathy), Jake (Donna) and late Lola. Brother-in-law of Bert (Karol) Brand and the late Joanne Van Voorst (Evert) Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 from 1 pm until the time of Service at 2 pm inside the chapel. Guests are invited to remain for a reception inside the lower lounge following the service. Private family interment will occur at the Barrie Union Cemetery, 338 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to the Barrie Food Bank and are greatly appreciated by the family.
