The world became a little dimmer on Saturday May 10, 2025 with the passing of Jeannine DeWare at the age of 76. Jeannine passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on the day of her 56th wedding anniversary.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and an infectious warmth that touched everyone she met. Jeannine’s family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment with her devoted husband, Brian, and her three little chickadees: Natalie (Jason), Tanya (Nelson), and Jillian (Drew).
Jeannine’s life was a tapestry of adventure, laughter, and compassion. Known for her welcoming smile, she made all who encountered her feel instantly comfortable and valued. Whether it was her family, friends, or even a stranger, Jeannine had an incredible ability to make everyone feel at home.
Her adventurous spirit led her to travel the world, earn her black belt in Tae Kwon Do, get her motorcycle license, and hit the slopes with her family. Jeannine’s love for animals was boundless, a reflection of her kind and nurturing soul.
Jeannine is also survived by her loving siblings Ann Stevens (Karl), Peter Whalen (Anne), Denise Bottomley, Charlene MacLellan (Wayne), Terry Whalen (Wendy), and Sheila Cyr, as well as her in-laws Betty Audain, Karen Mason (Courtney), Jim DeWare (Louise), and many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her firstborn daughter, Krista, her parents Doug and Lorraine Whalen, her parents-in-law Walter and Kathleen DeWare, and brothers-in-law Jim Bottomley, Owen Audain, and Wayne DeWare.
Jeannine’s spirit will live on in the countless memories she created and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. She truly was a ray of sunshine and will be missed profoundly.
