Janice Dukeshire Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Mary Dukeshire, a loving wife, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully left us on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on May 31, 1947, in Saint John, NB, Janice was the daughter of the late Gerald and Doreen (Arsenault) Bourque.
As the self-appointed leader of her family, Janice was a pillar of strength and wisdom, always ensuring her loved ones were cared for. Her unwavering love and guidance created a bond that will remain unbroken.
Janice enjoyed bingo, poker, and Hallmark Christmas movies, and in her earlier years, she could often be found spending time at the beach.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 39 years, LeRoy; her children Tom Wilson (Diane Steen), Tammy Wilcox (Terry); step-sons Timothy Dukeshire, David Dukeshire, Mitchell Dukeshire; brothers Mark Bourque (Freda), Gerald Bourque (Louise Lapointe); sisters Carol Carvell (Len), Linda Myers (Moe), Debbie Snodgrass (Donald), Diane McIntyre (Dan), Cindy Furlong (Brian), Jean Bourque, Darlene MacFarland (Kenny), Theresa Dignard (John); grandchildren Ashleigh (Gilles), Dylan (Chelsey), Brittany, Jerad; great-grandchildren Emma, Avery, Madison, and Link; her beloved canine companion Kali; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Janice was predeceased by her brothers Wayne, Ronnie, Edgar, and Darrell.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Neurology and Palliative Care at the Saint John Regional Hospital, as well as to all the staff at Bobby’s Hospice, for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Janice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Fundy Chapel. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
