Obituary of Janette Ivalo Moore
Janette Ivalo Moore (Meister), 90, of Aylesford, NS passed gently on 25 April, 2025 at the Valley Regional Hospital. Janette was born in New Ross, Nova Scotia on 23 October, 1934. She was the daughter of Oliver and Muriel Meister.
Janette was a gentle, affectionate and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She left home at 16 to work at the Kentville Sanitorium in the cafeteria until she married in 1954. As a military wife she lived in Halifax, NS, Petawawa, ON, Soest, Germany, Picton,ON and finally settled in Aylesford, NS. After all the children finished school she became a successful sales representative for Avon Canada. In the mid-80s she opened a used clothing outlet until the building was sold. Janette loved cooking and entertaining family in her home.
Janette is survived by seven sons, Daniel in Yarmouth, NS; Michael (Mary) in Port Mouton, NS; Patrick in Aylesford, NS; Steven (Beverly) in Lower Sackville, NS; Timothy in Aylesford, NS; Roger in Aylesford, NS; and Brian in Aylesford, NS. Janette’s surviving siblings are Shirley MacAskill in East Dalhousie, NS; Velma (Bill) Murray in Calgary, AB; Eugene Meister in Greenwood, NS; Vernon (Carol) Meister in New Minas, NS; Philip (Holly) Meister in Peteborough, ON; Linda (Warren) Pearen in Terrance Bay, ON; David Meister in Terrance Bay, ON; and Marian (Glen) Walker in New Ross, NS.
Janette was predeceased by her husband Francis and daughter Janette; by sibling brothers Vaughn, Donald, Orley and Roger.
