Janet Caroline (Rogers) Kipfer of Gowanstown passed away at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in her 86th year.
Loving wife of the late Allan Kipfer (2013).
Mother of Jennifer Kipfer of Gowanstown, and Andrew Kipfer & Lisa Demarte of Cambridge.
Sister-in-law of Sharon & Jim Stephen of Waterloo, and remembered by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Gordon & Ida (Schierholtz) Rogers, sister Enid Rogers, and brother-in-law Jack Kipfer and his wife Gloria.
Janet was born in Kitchener-Waterloo. She attended Kitchener Collegiate Institute and was a graduate of Waterloo Lutheran University. After graduating from teacher’s college, she worked at Listowel District Secondary School from 1961 – 1995 as a secretarial science/business teacher where she met her husband. They were married in 1965.
She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Listowel and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed reading, gardening, travelling and playing bridge. In her later years she was an avid tennis, raptors and Bluejays fan
The family would like to thank the staff at Barnswallow Nursing Home in Elmira for the excellent care that she received.
The funeral service will be held at Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow at Parkview Gardens, Listowel.
Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau.
Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
