Gertrude Jane (Kerr) Ward of Listowel passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in her 85th year.
Beloved wife of Hilton Ward.
Mother of Chad Ward (Norma) of Listowel, Warren Ward of Mitchell, and Marion Ward of Listowel, and mother-in-law of Lois Lassaline of Gorrie.
Also sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Predeceased by her son Keven Ward, daughter-in-law Cheryl Ward, parents Bill & Helen (Richmond) Kerr, and brother John Kerr.
Jane was born in Petrolia where she grew up with her brother John. She always had a caring nature so it was no surprise she went into Nursing, graduating from an RNA course in Wingham in 1959.
She met the love of her life, Hilton, at the Royal Tea Dance Hall, Wingham. They were married on September 24, 1960, and had four children whom she adored.
Jane worked at Listowel Memorial Hospital for 25 years. Hilton and Jane enjoyed camping for many years where they met a lot of great people who later became wonderful friends. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and watching her grandchildren play sports. Jane was so proud of them all.
