Jane Theresa Oosthuizen Obituary
Jane Oosthuizen (nee Paul), beloved wife of Patrick Oosthuizen, passed away late in the day on February the first, 2025 at the age of 69 as a result of cancer which she had been dealing with for three years.
Jane obtained degrees in arts and teaching from Queen`s University. She worked for a long period as a research assistant at Queen`s University and was the co-author of a number of research publications.
Jane had many friends and shared much time with them, enjoying their company. She had a passion for Hawaiian Dancing and after pursuing classes to learn the art, continued on as the instructor. She taught classes for many years and developed many long-lasting friendships as a result. She also spread the joy of the art to many by arranging group performances of Hawaiian Dancing at various retirement homes.
Jane was a marvelous, caring person who will be deeply and so very sadly missed by her husband, sisters Ann Pickett and Linda Paul and other family members, and many friends.
Resting at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. Friends will be received on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:50 pm. A service to Celebrate Jane will be held at 2 pm. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery. A reception will follow in the James Reid Reception Centre. If desired, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or World Wildlife Fund.
