It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James Edward Downing, on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at Royal Victoria Hospital, at the age of 86.
Beloved Husband of Helen Downing (nee White). Cherished Father of James George Downing (Anne Downing), and Laura Ballett (Joseph Ballett). Proud Papa of Tyler, Travis, David, Sierra, Sommer, and Michael. Great-Grandfather of Lincoln. Loving Brother of Ruth Van Oers, Gloria Hadcock (Andy Hadcock), Evelyn Dyer (Phil Dyer), and Walt Downing (Nancy Downing). Brother-in-law of Charles White. James is predeceased by his siblings Shirley Heaps (the late Denis Heaps), Mary Hughes and Joyce Hoover.
There will be a visitation held at Innisfil Funeral Home (7910 Yonge St. Stroud), on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, from 12:30p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 2:00p.m. Burial to follow at Innisvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of James to The Canadian Cancer Society.
