It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Brian Gillen, a devoted husband, loving father and papa, who peacefully passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and resided in Ontario for the last 45 years. Brian was known for his witty sense of humour where he could always make someone laugh. A dedicated family person, Brian was a pillar of strength for his wife and children, always there to offer a listening ear and a helping hand.
He leaves behind his beautiful wife of 56 years, Wilma Gillen and cherished children Mary Ellen Caskenette (Michael), Kim Cook (David) and Robbie Gillen (Alisha) who will always remember his unwavering support and guidance. He was a proud Papa to Joshua, Jessica, Justin, Emily, Chloe, Brieanna, and Isabelle. Predeceased by his parents, James Charles and Alice Marie Gillen, his siblings Jack Gillen and Karen Keating. He will also be missed by his surviving brothers Paul Gillen (Pauline), Gary Gillen (Sharon) and sister Corinne Kierstead (Gary), and many nieces, nephews, and friends as well.
Brian was passionate about his game of golf and entertaining family and friends. He took immense pride in his family. He was blessed to have good friends, some who have gone before him, and we are comforted to know that he will be welcomed with warm hugs and a pint by his predeceased family and friends.
