HUGHES, James “Jim” – Entered into rest peacefully, with family by his side at Victoria Manor, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Jim at the age of 84, was the beloved husband of Catherine “Sis” Hughes (née Roberge). Loving father to Lisa Jilesen (John), Bryan Hughes (Karen), the late Darren (Kim), Tim Pilon, Jim Thompson (Susan), and Cindy Thompson (Gord). Loving grandfather to Marc, Dylan, Alex, Shaylee, Tyler, Kyla, Laura, Adam, Lucas, Nolan, Ryan, Jackson, and great-grandfather to 8. Dear brother to Pat Batcules (the late Jim), the late Bob Hughes, Tiny Fell (Don), Susan Barriball (Ron), Joanne Harvey (Reg), and the late David Hughes. Jim will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Wednesday, January 8th from 10:00am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 12:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 67, 12 York Street North, Lindsay from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. Interment will take place at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Fenelon Falls in the spring. If desired, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Kawartha Lakes which would be appreciated by the family.
