Jim slipped away very peacefully with his family surrounding him on January 27, 2025. He fought a long battle with cancer, congestive heart disease and COPD. Always maintaining his sense of humour and his fondness of long talks at the breakfast table. He is pre-deceased by his Mom and Dad, Elsie & Richard Ritchie. He leaves a cavernous hole in the hearts of his sister Carroll (Lefebvre) and nieces Tanya (Lefebvre) and Sharlene (Terrett). Also surviving him are his great-nieces and nephews, Julia, Zack, Emmy, Aislinn and Grace, his Aunt Eve and Uncle Ralph Hadfield, many cousins and friends. He was born in Toronto, February 13th, 1951 and moved to Tsawwassen in August, 2016 and lived with his family, but he always missed Ontario and never gave up on his beloved Maple Leafs! An avid Beatles fan and guitar player, music was his refuge. He will be greatly missed by many. Thanks to Dr. Craig Martin, Dr. Jeremy Ho, the amazing nursing staff at the Richmond Hospital Cancer Clinic, Delta Fire Department (Tsawwassen) and staff at Irene Thomas Hospice. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in Ontario in August, 2025.
