Jacqueline “Jackie”‘s Obituary
THIBODEAU, Jacqueline “Jackie” – Age 59, of Meteghan River, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital after a four and a half year battle with cancer. Born in Grand Manan, NB, she was a daughter of Alice (Maillet) Thibodeau and the late Edmond.
Jackie graduated in Clare, moved to Moncton in their 20’s as a single mom and furthered her career. She applied at Times & Transcript, where she was employed for 15 years until it closed. She then worked at Spilo Cassino as a repair technician for over 10 years and, when her son, Kurt, graduated from Carpentry and settled at a permanent job in Moncton Hospital, she decided to come back home with her childhood sweetheart, Nil. She then applied at Register.com call centre in Hebron. She loved her co-workers and right away became family. She loved her bosses, Karen Churchill and Tammie Corkum, and made many friends. When the call centre closed, she decided to change career and took the insurance broker exam and passed the bar as a broker for Vaughne Insurance in Yarmouth.
She is survived by her companion of 14 years, Nil Deveau; son, Kurt Axford; daughter, Laura MacDonald; brothers, Mike, Jerry, Edmund “Sonny”; sisters, Barbara LeBLanc, Christine MacDonald; grandchildren, Violet, Beckett; niece, Candace LeBlanc; nephew, Christopher LeBlanc; grand-nephews, Alexandre and Jaxx.
She was predeceased by her brother, James.
Her passion was the beach, and she loved being at her camper with friends, family, and her shadow (sister, Barbara). But most of all, she looked forward to driving to Moncton to be with her son and future daughter-in-law, Brooklynn; and her grandchildren. She was in her glory while spending weeks and holidays with them. She enjoyed spending summertime in the pool with her besties, Gail Comeau and Dale Theriault.
Jackie took pleasure in her little farm. She loved her cat, Penny and her Yorkie, Fritz, who was there with her on many of these traveling adventures. I also enjoyed sharing these with my little sister and best friend, and feel the biggest loss of my life. ‘Til we find each-other again and reside in Paradise.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
