After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Charles ‘Jack’ Robinson, a devoted husband, cherished father, proud grandpa, and a great friend. Jack passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and hard work.
Jack was married to the love of his life, Sue, for 47 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Jack was the proud father of three children: Shelley (Scott) of Goderich, Troy (Lindsey) of Kurtzville, and Kyle (Malorie) of Englehart. Jack will be missed by his siblings Shirley Bowman, Ralph (Marlene) Robinson, Ron (Lois) Robinson, Joan Danbrook, and Debbie (Don) Strachan, sisters-in-law Janet (Rejean) Pomerleau, and Joanne (Mitch) Friesen, and his many nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Roy & Ruth (Thompson) Robinson, his parents-in-law Jim & Anita Scott, and his brothers-in-law Ken (Archie) Bowman, and Doug Danbrook.
One of Jack’s most treasured roles was being a Grandpa. His grandchildren, Aubrey, Alivia, Camryn, and Colton, brought him immeasurable joy and were the light of his life. He took great pride in each of them, always celebrating their accomplishments and sharing in their adventures.
Jack worked at LanXess Elmira for 30 years making life-long friendships along the way. Jack loved his job at LanXess mostly because of his co-workers. Often when Jack would talk about work, it was always stories about his co-workers who became friends. When Jack wasn’t working, you would be able to find him helping his son Troy work the home farm in Howick Township or up north helping Kyle expand his farms in the Englehart area. Jack was also a proud member of the Moon River Camp. Whether it was spending time fishing and four-wheeling or cleaning seeds for a fellow farmer, Jack’s kindness, laugh and willingness to always have a good time has left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Jack’s legacy of love, hard work, and selflessness will be forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a further celebration of Jack’s life at Parkview Gardens (Listowel Legion) from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to SickKids Hospital Foundation or NEO Kids (Health Sciences North) would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.

Jack will be dearly missed but never forgotten by his family and friends. We love you and will miss you, until we meet again Dad.
