Irene’s Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Irene Rita Plamondon (née Collette), who passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, in Woodstock, New Brunswick.
Born on July 8, 1941, in St. Hebert, Prince Edward Island, Irene was the eldest of twelve children. From an early age, she helped raise her younger siblings, a testament to the deep love and sense of responsibility that would define her entire life.
In August of 1960, Irene married and embarked on an incredible journey as a military wife. She bravely flew alone with her four young children to Germany, facing her fears alone. She spent four years living and travelling Europe before being transferred to Vancouver Island, where she found her greatest joy. British Columbia became her paradise—its lakes, mountains, and natural beauty spoke to her adventurous spirit. She loved nothing more than fishing, a pastime that brought her peace and happiness. Later they were transferred to Ontario and she found new passions in gardening, baking and hobby farming. She had a lot of fun doing farmers markets.
Music was another great love in her life, filling her home and heart with joy. But above all, her greatest pride and deepest love were reserved for her children and grandchildren, William, Nicholas, Brad, Phil, Damian, Christopher and Jianna and great grandchildren Emily, Benjamin, Isabelle, Blake and Robin
Irene is predeceased by her beloved son John, her husband Lucien, her parents Adele and Clement, and her brothers Arthur, Leonard, Gus, and Charlie. She leaves behind her children Janette (David), Dianne (Peter), and Paul, as well as her sisters May, MaryEllen, Bertha, Anne, Yvonne and brother Roger, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her loss is immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock. NB entrusted with the arrangements.

She will be missed beyond measure, but her love and spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
