It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Irene Mondor (nee Groulx) at Timmins Extendicare, on Tuesday January 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her husband Marc Mondor (1993), her children Richard Mondor (1958), Lina Proulx (2021) and Maurice Mondor (2022), her grandson David Lauzon (2017) and by her siblings Ernest, Gabriel, Frank, Maurice, Samuel, Jacques, Yvonne, Florence, Doreen, Victoria and Alice.
She is survived by her loving children, Gerald Mondor, Rita Slane (Tim), Anita Ferguson (late Yvon 2021) Robert Mondor (Gale), Denise Picard (Rene), Marc Mondor (Gwen), Remi Mondor (Claudette), Juliette Nicholas (Neil) and Nicole Bujold (Paul); her son-in-law Gérard Proulx; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and by his brother Victor Groulx.
Irene had a passion for cooking, baking, gardening, travelling and loved a good game of cards. She will be remembered for her generous heart and was at her happiest moment when she was surrounded by her family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Extendicare Timmins/Mattagami wing for their excellent care and compassion for our mom.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, from 11am to 2pm at the LESSARD Reception Centre. Interment of her cremated remains will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the Timmins Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
