It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irene Marilyne Anness(Hailio),age 82. She passed away peacefully January 2 2025.
Born in Port Arthur November 20 1942. She worked at numerous jobs supporting her family. She enjoyed reading, painting, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her dear friends Darlene, Ethal,Diane and Marry. She also enjoyed the Thunder Bay Auditorium.
Irene was predeceased by her parents Vihteri and Hilija Hailio, son Earl Anness and sister Linda Hailio. She is survived by her brothers Albert and Ed Hailio, sister Margaret (Wayne) Bilbrough, son Victor Anness, daughters Susan (Sharon) Anness,Tara (Terry) Hurst. Grandchildren Kara (Jevon) Kavalchuk, Shae Holmberg, Matthew and Brian Anness, 4 great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews along with cousins in Finland.
Irene spent the last 5 years at Hogarth Orchid 5 south. We would like to send our sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff for the care and attention they gave to her.
A celebration of life will take place in late spring for close friends and family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
