Iolina Chiumento
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Iolina Chiumento on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 85 years.
Iolina is survived by her children, Renato (Debbie), Robert (Adrianna) and Maurizio (Leah); grandchildren, Kristopher, Kaylee and Leo; sister, Olympia (Andrea); honorary grandchildren, Gabriella, Adriano, Sophia and Mila; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Giuseppe and her beloved brother, Enrico.
Iolina was a talented and creative in everything she touched. She spent most of her time as a seamstress in many different fur and wedding dress stores in Edmonton. She designed and tailored her own clothes and for many others. She loved being around her family and friends and keeping in touch with her friends on the phone. She was truly an honorable person in every sense. Her catholic faith was also very important to her. Living on an acreage in Sturgeon County allowed for her to grow her own food which she mastered and was proud of her accomplishments. After her husband passed, Iolina moved into Edmonton to be closer to her children and was able to be a big part of raising her youngest grandson, Leo.
Iolina will be deeply missed by all.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue NW, Edmonton with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
