Moncton, NB – Oscar Melanson, of Manoir Notre-Dame, passed away on March 6th, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born in Saint-Paul-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Clorice Melanson and the late Georgina (Robichaud) Melanson.
Oscar was a man who enjoyed parties, especially when music was involved. He had a passion of singing and playing guitar. He loved watching horse races, and spending time at his cottage in Caissie Cape. He had numerous cherishable friends, and he will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his son, Paul Melanson of Moncton; his daughter, Carol Brun of Moncton; his two grandchildren: Jonathan Brun (Jessica Noël), and Danika Melanson; his former daughter-in-law, Ermina Melanson; his two brothers: Clarence (late Rosa) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, and Gerald of New York; his two sisters: Anita (Raymond) Dryden of Moncton, and Rosetta Melanson (Oddie) of St-Georges; his half brother, Roméo Jaillet of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Blanche; his brother, Clorice (Doris); his half sister, Yvette Russell; as well as his son-in-law, Jean-Louis Brun.
Visitation will be held from Passage, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Wednesday, March 12th, from 2 to 4 pm, followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 4 pm.
