Cap-Pelé, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Murielle Cormier, 76, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.
Born in Cap-Pelé, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jude and the late Claudia (Vautour) Gaudet.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for AMCO Fisheries in Bas-Cap-Pelé. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always at the rink to follow them play hockey and ringette. She also enjoyed making puzzles, going to the casino, going for drives with her siblings and spending time in the summer at Parc Aboiteau. Murielle was very present with her family, always there to help and organise family events.
She is survived by her daughter, Monique Légère (David) of Cap-Pelé; by her son, Mathieu Cormier (Natalie) of Dieppe; by her son-in-law, Eric “Spanky” Cormier of Cormier-Village; by her grandchildren: Jason (Danika), Justin (Karine), Miguel (Madison), Josiane and Jasmine; by her great grandchildren: Élise, Audrée, Liam, Max, Loïc and Maisie; by her sisters: Gisèle Cormier (late Roger) of Cap-Pelé, Linda Bourque (Francis) of Trois-Ruisseaux, Louise Cormier (Omer) of Haute-Aboujagane and Louisa Gaudet (Allison Savoury) of Cap-Pelé; by her brother, Norbert Gaudet (Carmelle) of Cap-Pelé, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rhéal Cormier in 2021; by her daughter, Brigitte Cormier (Eric “Spanky”) in 2007 and by her brother, Arcade.
No visitation will be held prior to the funeral, funeral mass will be held from Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila RC Church, Cap-Pelé NB, on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, at 3 pm.
A special thank-you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the 4-D Unit at the Dumont Hospital for the excellent care given to Murielle.
