It is with great sorrow that we are sharing the passing of Ernest (Ernie) Miousse who was
surrounded by family and partner at the George Dumont Hospital on the 12th of January
2025, at the age of 66.
Ernest, father to Justin, brother to Astrid, Rachelle & Anne, long time partner to Catherine, will be greatly missed but live on in our memory.
Ernest had retired at the age of 65 in December 2023 after having been a heavy equipment
operator and truck driver for over 35 years. Ernest was a very dependable, devoted and
treasured employee.
During his off-season Ernest loved to go walking in the local parks. One of his outdoor
hobbies was to snare rabbits for stews and meat pies. Catherine would accompany him on weekends and loved to feed the birds.
When weather permitted, Ernest would prepare a cooler of food and they would go on long drives on Sundays, often stopping for a picnic supper. The protein serving of choice was often lobster or friend chicken. He would always have a pail and shovel in his trunk to go
clam digging. During the colder season when him and Catherine would still go for a drive,
they would treat themselves to a restaurant. Before Covid they often went to Halifax to enjoy the waterfront.
Ernest was a very neat person and trustworthy tenant. Saturday’s they would often cook
meals for the upcoming week. When Justin came to visit, they would go golfing, play pool
and play many games of cards. Ernest had to make sure he had enough food for Justin’s big
breakfasts. They would visit Mamere & Papere down the Baie or in Rogersville at the
nursing home.
Ernest was born and raised in Baie Ste-Anne to now deceased parents, Stanley Miousse &
Edna Morais. Ernest was preceded by his brother Euclid and his brother Rejean. He leaves
behind many nieces and nephews, friends, uncles, aunts and cousins. Janet, Justin’s
Mom, and Ernest maintained respect for one another throughout the years.
In memory of Ernest today, please seek to do a good deed. Ernest could often be found
helping the needy and homeless. He had a penchant for helping others and would proudly
do so any chance he had.
Celebrations of Ernest’s life will be held in the spring in Baie Ste-Anne.
