Moncton, NB – Claudette Lena Perreault, aged 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, NB, with her beloved daughter, Nicole Sneath, by her side. Her passing came just seven weeks after losing the love of her life, Daniel Perreault, her husband of 62 years.
Born in Newcastle, NB, Claudette later moved to Ottawa, Ontario, in the early 1960s. It was there that she met and married her soulmate, Daniel, in 1962. The couple relocated to Moncton in 1963 to begin their life together.
Claudette was a creative and innovative woman, establishing a French Immersion kindergarten in 1979 that she operated for many years. Her passion for learning and technology led her to take computer courses and become very proficient in it. Her love for music and technology brought her many hours of joy during retirement, transferring hundreds of vinyl records to CDs and other modern formats.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Rick Perreault (Adriana) of Moncton, NB, and Nicole Sneath (Mike) of Novato, California; her cherished niece: Monique Hussey (Andrew) of Moncton, NB; and her treasured grandchildren: Joran and Madison Sneath, and Zak and Sam Perreault. She was also a devoted great-aunt to Ryan and Kayla Hussey.
Claudette was predeceased by her siblings: Armand Valdron and Yolande Mongeon, as well as several beloved sisters-in-law, whom she considered as close as siblings.
Despite the distance, Claudette maintained daily connections with extended family
, often through her favorite game, Words with Friends.
Claudette will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her loved ones find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Daniel. Together again, they are surely dancing and laughing.
Rest in peace, Claudette.
A little gathering will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 3pm to 3:30pm. Prayers will be said at 3:30pm. A graveside service will be held at a later date this spring/summer at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe, where she will rest in peace with her husband.
