Inez Marie Lever (née Seabrook) of Hanover passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Markdale, Ontario, on August 25, 1933, to the late George Ernest and Alice (née Menary) Seabrook, Inez lived a life filled with love, generosity, and dedication to family and community. She was a proud member of the Agricultural Society and a steadfast supporter of her husband Jim’s active involvement in agriculture, always by his side.
Inez’s love for horses began in childhood, growing up on the farm, where she fondly recalled her father, George, taking the neighborhood children to school in the winter by horse and sleigh. Later in life, she found great joy in the excitement of racehorses and the happiness they brought to her family. She was a talented cook and baker, known for filling her home with the inviting warmth of homemade meals and desserts that brought family and friends together.
Above all, Inez deeply cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was endlessly thoughtful and generous with her time, creating special, lasting memories with her grandchildren—whether through shared stories, laughter in the kitchen, or simply making every moment together meaningful.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 74 years, James “Jim” Lever, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Loving mother of Doug (Donna) Lever and Dennis (Betty Anne) Lever. A cherished grandmother to Kailagh (Christian), Gregory (Natalia), and Regan (Glen), and a proud great-grandmother to Hopkins, Penelope, Lyla, Everly, Finnegan, and Heidi. Inez will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is predeceased by her sister, Eunice (Glen) Howell.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jenn Brown. Interment to follow at Hanover Cemetery.
