Obituary of Ian James McGee
Ian James McGee, 87, passed away on February 20th, 2025 after years of progressing dementia, at University Gates Retirement Home, Waterloo, Ontario. He died peacefully with his daughters near him. His wife, Dawna, was convalescing in hospital at the time of his death; she has since returned to University Gates to heal her heart and body.
Ian is survived by his wife Dawna, daughters Lisa, Allison, and Susan, sisters Heather and Janet, sisters-in-law Lois and Joan, brothers-in-law John and Doug, and grandchildren Foster, Hunter, Dallas, Alana, Natalie, and Seth. He is predeceased by his parents Jim and Janet McGee, and his brother Bob.
Our family had to share our dad with so many people! He was loved by many, and his stories of his life (and his jokes) will continue on.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 10-11am. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11am followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room.
