HOLT, W. Ian – suddenly at his home on Sunday, January 26th, 2025 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of 59+ years to Margaret Holt (nee Holden) of Simcoe. Loving father of Julia Barat (Robert Moody) of Strathroy and Tracy Holt of Simcoe. Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Andrew & Aaron Barat. Adoring great grandfather of Michael, Liam & Brooklyn. Dear brother of Lynn Keaveney (late Jim), Peter Holt (Iris) and David Holt (Lynette), all of England. Ian will be sadly missed by special friend Olivia Hays (late Al) of Simcoe and by several nieces, nephews & extended family. Ian spent every Sunday volunteering at the War Plane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope which he loved talking to visitors from all over the world. He really enjoyed working with his fellow volunteers. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ian with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with LPM Erna Greenfield officiating. Private interment of ashes at a later date. Those wishing to donate in memory of Ian are asked to consider the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, the War Plane Heritage Museum or the Simcoe & District Humane Society.
