Hugh Lee Obituary
Hugh Duncan Charles Lee, age 86, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on January 26, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Kingsville, Ontario, son of the late Hugh and Kathleen (Moore) Lee.
Hugh taught school in Ridgetown and Wallaceburg until 1977 when he joined Mutual Life of Canada where he worked in Chatham and later in Stratford as Branch Manager until his retirement in 1995. He was a life member of the Kinsmen Club of Canada, an avid golfer, hunter, loved to travel and spend time at Loon Lake.
Beloved husband for 62 years of Roberta (Bennett). Father of John (Chris), Kathy Thompson (Greg), Sandra Pisters (Johan), David (Lori). Grandfather of Andrew, Jessica, Samantha (Josh), Michael, Kate, Nicole and Rachel. Great grandfather of Lily. Also survived by sister-in-law Susan Seidman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother Jim and sisters Donna and Mary.
A private family interment will take place at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford. Friends are invited to celebrate Hugh’s life at the Stratford Country Club, 53 Romeo Street North, Stratford on Sunday, February 2, from 1-4 p.m. Memorial donations in Hugh’s memory may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Stroke Unit or Rotary Hospice.
