In Loving Memory of
Phuong Thi Hofman
September 10, 1962 – February 4, 2025
Phuong Thi Hofman, aged 62, peacefully passed away on February 4, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario.
Devoted mother of Juliette Hofman. Beloved wife of Peter Hofman. Beloved sister of Thanh Kim Nguyen, Phong Thi Nguyen, and Long Tien Nguyen. Dear aunt to Kenny Bui and his fiancée Lina Wu, Michael Bui, Phuong Viet Pham and his wife Dung Mai Tran, and Phuc Cong Pham and his wife Dung Thi Ngoc Vu. Predeceased by her brother, Cat Gia Nguyen. Phuong will also be missed by a community of friends and family who will forever cherish her memory.
Born in Hai Phong, Vietnam, Phuong grew up during the war, shaping her into the independent and resilient woman we all knew and loved. Born in the year of the Tiger, she embodied its spirit—courageous, passionate, and fiercely loving. Her journey took her across the world—from Vietnam to Hong Kong to the Czech Republic to finally settling in Toronto, Canada—where she developed an incredible multilingual ability and a rich appreciation for different cultures.
Her life was one of dedication, warmth, and meticulous care in everything she did. She worked as a housekeeper and esthetician, both of which she embraced with diligence and an unwavering commitment to excellence. As a housekeeper at the University of Toronto, she was a beacon of happiness, touching the lives of coworkers and students alike with her kindness and dependability. In her spa business, she became more than a trusted esthetician—she was a confidante and a friend, making her clients feel beautiful inside and out with her attention to detail and kindness.
She had a unique gift for bringing life to everything she touched—her home, her garden, and most of all, her family. She found joy in the simple things: gardening, learning about health and beauty, being outdoors, and even line dancing as a hobby. An incredible cook and hostess, she filled her home with warmth, laughter, and lovingly prepared meals.
Phuong touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
