Obituary of Hilbert Harry Barry
Hilbert H. Barry, Retired Sergeant RCAF passed away peacefully at Charlotte County Hospital on July 7, 2025.
Hib (as he was known by most people) came from a family of 3 boys and 2 girls, as well as several half brothers and sisters. Hib is survived by many nieces and nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as special friend Tammy Jones and the crew at Joneses who kept him occupied later in life. Hib was the last surviving member of his immediate family.Hib was predeceased by his father Harry and his Mother Faye nee Ackerley, Brothers, Brenton and Aubrey and sisters, Kathlene and Margaret.
Hib served for 25 years in the Air Force working with both the UN and NATO on various missions throughout the world. He retired from RCAF and went to work at Point Lepreau on security. Upon retiring he became a volunteer with Fundy Ambulance Service and began teaching First Aid. Hib also eventually joined the Blacks Harbour Fire Department. Hib was well known around the province for his First Aid teaching. He loved to travel and tell stories, he has led a life of service first to his country then his community and his church.
