Henry McCharles Death Notice
Henry passed away peacefully, at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, on Thursday, February 19, 2025. He was 84 years old.
Henry was born in Chisholm Township, the seventh of 14 children, to the late Valentine (Myre) and Kenneth McCharles. He was the dear brother of Brian McCharles (Mary-Anne) of Astorville, Michael McCharles (Monique) of Alberta, Bernadette (the late Galvin Petrowski) of Montreal, Quebec, Rita (Noel-Rene St. Jean) of North Bay, Evelyn (the late Larry Duplisse) of North Bay, and predeceased by his siblings Robert, Margaret, Kenneth (Marilyn of British Columbia), Mildred (the late Andrew Ricard), Edward (the late Lucille), Betty (the late Richard Goodfellow), Victor, and Theresa (the late John Coles). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Henry was retired from a career as a Shipper/Receiver in the retail clothing industry and worked in both Quebec and Alberta.
All his life he enjoyed playing violin, guitar, and singing Hank Williams songs. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing. Henry retired in Powassan where he was well known for his jovial personality and ability to strike up a conversation with everyone he met on the street.
Memorial Service will be announced later in the spring of 2025. Following the service his ashes will be buried with his parents in the St. Thomas d’Aquin Cemetery Astorville.
