It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Stefaniuk (née Hryniuk), at the age of 93, on February 2, 2025, at 2:00 AM at the Cudworth Nursing Home. Born on February 6, 1931, in Wakaw, SK, Helen lived her entire life in the community of Cudworth, where she became widely known and respected. Helen was deeply involved in the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cudworth, where her faith and dedication made a lasting impact. Her love for her church community was evident in the countless hours she volunteered, supporting various church activities and events. Her strong faith, kindness, and devotion to her church were an inspiration to all. Helen’s life was also defined by her deep connection to family and friends. She was known for her warm, generous spirit, and the unwavering support she offered to those she loved. Her laughter, compassion, and wisdom will always be remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Nick, parents Irene and Wasyl Hryniuk, and brothers John, Walter and David. She is survived by her dear brother, Jim Hryniuk of La Ronge, SK, and her loving sister, Ann Hamilton of Langdon, AB. She also leaves behind a large, loving extended family, including nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Helen’s legacy of love, kindness, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
A Funeral Service for Helen will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm in The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wakaw, SK with Rev. Fr. Harry Salahub as Officiant. Helen will be laid to rest following the service in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Cudworth, SK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK at 1-306-233-4403.
