It is with deep sadness that the family of Helen Elizabeth Rose announce her passing at Lakeside Homes in Gander on February 2nd, 2025 at the age of 88.
Helen was predeceased by her daughter Dora Brennan; her brothers Charlie and Claude Ralph; her sisters Amelia Ralph, Gay Short, Bonnie Wolfe, and Maybell Herman; and her parents Stephen and Matilda Ralph.
Left to mourn with loving memories are her spouse Walter Dominie, daughters Rosylan Rose-Zinck(Ken Zinck) of Halifax, NS; Lucheia(George)Jamieson of Napanee, Ontario; Tammy Rose(Stephen Lussier) of Laval, Quebec; grandchildren Jessica, Sean, Rachel, David, and Jaxson; great grandchildren Bennett, Eloise, and Ava; brother Bobby(Bernadette) Ralph, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
Our beloved mother was born in Traytown, NL, and as a little girl moved to Union East. Later, she along with her young family, moved to Gander.
Mom took immense pride in being a Ganderite and cherished her hometown deeply. She dedicated much of her career to the hospitality industry, spending years at Sinbad’s Hotel, where she was adored for her kindness and warmth.
Mom will be remembered for many things. Her love of music, especially country music, filled our home when we were children. She had an amazing sense of humour and her laughter was infectious, her love for animals unwavering, and she had the ability to see beauty in the smallest of things. She also had a rare gift, the ability to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger and walk away with a new friend.
But above all, she will be remembered for her boundless love and loyalty to her family. She was our rock, our greatest example of love in its purest form. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and devotion will live on in all of us.
She was, and always will be, deeply loved.
Family will be accepting friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Sunday, April 27th, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 P.M. from the Funeral Home. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Gander and Area SPCA.
Arrangements entrusted through Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander – Carmanville.
