Helen Marie Braithwaite, of Hanover, passed away at McVean Lodge, Hanover on Friday, January 31, 2025, in her 104th year.
Born in Bentinck Township on March 12, 1921 to the late Gordon and Mary Louise (nee Lange) Mackey. Helen was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Women, Lamlash Women’s Institute and Hanover Care Centre Auxiliary.
Survived by son Douglas and his wife Donna of Bentinck Township, daughter Judith and her husband Bob Dickson of Durham, and son in law John Aljoe of Hanover. Sadly missed by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her beloved husband George, daughter Carole Ann Aljoe, brothers Carl Mackey, Bruce Mackey and sisters Doris Davies and Jean MacArthur.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 2-4 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11 am. A time of fellowship will follow at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
