BROCHART, Hazel Alice (Nee. Waghorn)
Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Brantford General Hospital. Hazel was born 87 years ago in Matheson, Ontario, a daughter of the late John and Eliza (Morgan) Waghorn.
Hazel will be missed by her friends and neighbours on Barker Street who often stopped in for tea and conversation, and many times with a hot meal to spoil her with their kindness.
She will be remembered dearly by her sister in-law Sonya Sawyer (Waghorn), many nieces, nephews, great, and great-great nieces and nephews. Hazel shared a special bond with her nephew Kevin, who was her appointed chauffeur, confidant and handyman for anything she could come up with.
Predeceased and now reunited with her beloved husband Henry Brochart (July 18, 2010). Hazel was the last remaining of her siblings and is predeceased by her brothers Norman McKee and wife Edna, Gordon McKee and wife Luella, Jack Waghorn, and sister Grace Netterfield and husband James.
Hazel was a long time resident of Paris, Ontario, where her and Henry bought there home in 1975. Previous to Paris, Hazel was a resident of Toronto. Hazel loved her plants and gardens, she will be missed by her companion Kitty and loved many pets over her years with us. Hazel adored her family, her visits with her nephews and nieces, friends and neighbours.
A graveside service will be held in the Paris Cemetery, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of life visitation will follow at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, from 6 – 8:30 with words of remembrance spoken at 7:45.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Human Society of your choice.
