Harvey Leo Joseph Dietrich Obituary
Harvey Leo Joseph Dietrich
October 14, 1934 – February 10, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey Dietrich, an extraordinary soul who graced this world with kindness, compassion, and an infectious sense of humor. He left us on February 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Harvey lived a life guided by generosity, respect for all, and an unwavering passion for all the things he loved. A lifelong golfer, he played the game with the same dedication and joy that he brought to every aspect of his life. Right up to the end, he could still be found on the green, proving that passion and perseverance know no age. He also loved a good game of cribbage, where his sharp mind and competitive spirit always shone through. Beyond the fairways and card tables, he found solace and joy in gardening. With a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty, he nurtured every plant with the same care and patience he showed to the people in his life. His garden was not just a collection of flowers – it was a reflection of his heart, a place of peace, and a source of life and color that he shared with those around him. Above all, he was a man of warmth and a friend to all. His presence was a gift, his laughter a comfort, and his love immense. He carried with him a lifetime of stories, lessons, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever be felt in the laughter of a well-played joke, the joy of a perfect golf swing, the beauty of a garden in full bloom, and the warmth of a life well lived. While we grieve his passing, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the countless memories he leaves behind. Rest well, good and faithful servant.
Harvey is lovingly remembered by his children; Shelley MacDonald, Scott (Tracy) MacDonald and Lauri Latour; grandchildren, Fawn, Leigh (Sarah) and Kelsy (Will); great-grandchildren, Henry, Pepper, Finn, Van and Joseph, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends.
He is predeceased by his first-born son, Craig MacDonald; sisters, Marlene (Ed), Doreen (Orval), Bernice (Walter) and Dorothy (Ray) and parents, Theresa and Leo Dietrich.
