Spice, Harry Joseph “Harry Jr” – Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2024 in his 60th year.
He leaves behind his dear mother Marilyn (the late Eric, 2022) Schmiedl and siblings, Virgina Frederick and James (Calley) Spice. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Christepher Spice, Adanya Spice, Tessa Spice, Maizie Spice, and Zepher Spice. Predeceased by his birth mom, Lois Smith (1968), and father Harry Spice Sr (2005). Sadly, missed and always remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many other extended family members.
Harry was someone whose joy and positivity touched everyone he met. Always ready with a warm smile and a cheerful greeting, Harry’s presence was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. Whether he was offering two enthusiastic thumbs up or sharing his famous “glass half full” perspective, Harry had an ability to bring happiness and hope into every moment.
Harry had a deep love for vintage cars, and many fond memories were made as he shared his passion for these timeless machines. He was also an artist at heart—his love for music, ACDC was his favourite, and crafts that allowed him to express his creativity in countless ways. His artistic spirit and genuine kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A man of great strength, Harry accepted life’s challenges with grace and resilience. His positive attitude was infectious, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the surgical unit at Tillsonburg Hospital, as well as the nurses and staff at Maple Manor Nursing Home. Their compassionate care and dedication provided Harry with comfort and dignity in his final days.
Harry’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to experience his warmth, humor, and positivity. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, Woodstock.
