Harold Bailey Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Harold W. Bailey would announce his passing, Friday February 7th, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Harold (“Junior”) was the son of the late Harold Bailey Sr. and Janet Justason (Sowers, Bailey). He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Bailey(Sharkey), sons, Greg(Cheyenne), and Eric(Liz), grandchildren Conrad, Jolie, and Chase(AKA: Fred), his brother David, sisters Rachel Johnston, Diane(Jim) Farris, Gail(Terry) Hovey, in-laws Brian(Sheila) Sharkey, Ray (Pam) Sharkey, Lorraine(Gerard) Leger, and step father Danny Justason.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sisters Grace Weitz, Janet McKee, Shirley Oulton, and Rosemary Day, in-laws Darrell Johnston, Russell Weitz, Louis & Frances Sharkey, Jack & Fernande Sharkey, and very good friend Robert Dort of Maine.
Harold graduated from Saint John Vocational School in 1968, and Saint John Technical School in 1969. He retired as a long-time member of Sheet Metal Worker’s Local 437.
Among many interests, Harold loved riding motorcycles, as well as bowling, camping, darts on a Friday night, pool, and customizing vans back in the day. We must say, he took great pride in his work.
Harold enjoyed his time with family and friends, whether it be playing cards or chatting over coffee.
The family would like to extend their thanks to friends and relatives near and far for their prayers and support over the last four years. We would also like to thank the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital, particularly the staff in 5A South, and 4C North, and a special thank you to Dr. Reiman for his care since 2021.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, memorial donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
