October 13, 1950 – March 16, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Guymer (Ritchie) in her 75 th
year, at the Brantford General Hospital, on March 16, 2025 with her loving family by her side,
after a brief illness.
Sharon, the cherished daughter of the late Ron and Audrey (Anderson) Ritchie, was raised in
Dundas, ON as the eldest of six children.
Sharon married the love of her life, Steve, and they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
She was a devoted wife, mother, nana and great-nana who loved, indulging and spoiled her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always made them feel cherished. Anyone who
met Sharon was charmed by her quick wit and sometimes left speechless by her unexpected
sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Kari (Shane) Sheppard, and Greg (Somer) Guymer.
Grandchildren Taylor, Mackenzie, Maddison, Jacob, Hannah, and Shaelee and her great-
grandchildren Jaxon, Nirvana, and Maverick all held a special place in Nana’s heart.
Sharon will also be deeply missed by her siblings Dale (Jim) Johnston, Raymond (Debbie)
Ritchie, Ron (Kelly) Ritchie, and Patty (Bruce) Thachuk. Predeceased is Elwood Ritchie. She
will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family
members.
A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses in ICU especially Karen, Jason, and Magda, for
their exceptional care and support of Sharon and her family. As per Sharon’s wishes, a private
celebration of her life will be held at a later date with her family.
Online wishes can be left below.
