Passed Away on March 4, 2025
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Guilherme Moniz Jorge, known to all of us as “Jorge,” who left this world on March 4, 2025, after a brave battle with lung cancer.
Born in the serene village of Pontas Negras on the island of Pico, Azores, Portugal, Jorge was the youngest of six siblings. In 1963, he embarked on a new journey, immigrating to Canada with dreams of building a better life. Through hard work he carved out a path filled with resilience and an unwavering commitment to work and adventure.
Jorge was a man who lived life on his own terms. With a heart of gold, he never hesitated to put others first, always striving to bring joy to his family and friends. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Michelle Jorge Dias, his cherished son-in-law and friend, Robert Dias, and his adored grandsons, Tiago and Cristiano Dias.
A celebration of Jorge’s life will be held at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home 114 Main St. E., Milton, ON on Sunday, March 9 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Parish located at 139 Martin St. Milton, ON. Immediately following the Mass, the interment will be at the Milton Evergreen Cemetery with a reception being held back at the Funeral Home Upper Lounge ( there is an elevator for those requiring assistance )
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in his honour.
Rest easy, Jorge. You will always be in our hearts.
