With heavy hearts the family of Greta Marjorie Thomas
announce her passing on February 11th, 2025 peacefully at the DECH,
Fredericton. Born in Doaktown on May 9, 1938, Greta was the
daughter of Edna and Ernie
Storey.
Greta is survived by her loving husband of 70 years,
James Thomas. She is also survived by their children; Terry
Thomas (Linda), Joanne Walker (Scott), Heather Morehouse (Tony),
Colleen Wood (Chris), Pattie Copp (Robert), Teresa Edgar (Paul);
grandchildren Melanie Lisson (Dylan), Joel Walker, Craig Walker
(Leah), Amanda MacFarlane (Mitchell), Emily Phillips (Jaret), Kyle
Copp, Trevor Copp, Paige Edgar, Gavin Edgar; great grandchildren
Quinn, Drew, McKenna, Chase, Everett, Grace, Ben and
Sam.
Greta was predeceased by her parents and her daughter
in law, Linda Thomas.
Greta was a dedicated and committed
homemaker. In addition to her own six children, she provided
supportive care for other children in her home, community day care,
and as an Education Assistant in a variety of
schools.
Greta enjoyed reading and many activities with family
and friends. Camping, walking, square and line dancing were
some of her favorites. She enjoyed music and attended many
musical events with her husband. Greta was very creative and
often sewed clothes for her younger children, as well as knit
sweaters, mitts, hats and socks for her children and
grandchildren. Greta also loved quilting and gathering with
neighbors and the quilters guild to work together on beautiful
heirlooms.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 14th from 2-4 pm
at Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road. A funeral
service will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 11 am in the
Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow. Interment will take
place in Marysville in the
spring.
Donations can be made in Greta’s memory to
the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Diabetes
Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
