Obituary of Gordon Hanson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Andrew Hanson, on January 1st, 2025. We are truly grateful for all the time he had with loved ones in his 91 years.
Gordon was born in Montreal on November 6th, 1933. He is survived by his wife Barbara, of 72 years, with a love that was undeniable, beautiful and pure. Gordon was a loyal and loving father and will be greatly missed by Sheryl (Mark), Gale (Bruce), and the late, Gordie.
Gordon and Barbara built a beautiful family and enjoyed quality time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their grandchildren will miss their special grandpa – Sara (Gord), Adam (Lindsey), Heather (Markus), Sandra (Ross), Andrew and Kristen (Brian). Gordon had strong family values, was hard working, always exuding loyalty and kindness. However, his greatest attribute was his unwavering dedication and love for his “special little lady”, Barbara. Gordon and Barbara’s lives were always filled with friendships near and far, which brought them laughter, happiness and joy over the years.
The family would like to recognize Douglas Crossing for their exceptional care in Gordon’s later years and acknowledge their hard work. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a donation of your choice.
Please join us in honouring Gordon on January 10th at Dixon Garland Funeral Home. Visitation at 11:00am, Service at 12:00pm and Reception to follow at 1:00pm with refreshments.
