Gordon Glover Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Albert Glover, of Stratford Ontario, on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at the age of 87.
Son of the Late Walter and Pauline (nee Hicks) Glover.
Gordon spent his working career at Fisher Bearings as a machine operator, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
In his free time, he loved to travel to any destination that was warm and sunny, his favourites being various islands throughout the Caribbean.
Gordon was endlessly creative. His talents ranged from crafting clothing items such as belts out of leather, to creating pieces of jewelry from his collection of gems and stones which he mined himself. He liked to stay busy, whether by working, travelling, or crafting with his hands. In his spare time, you could find him fishing, watching movies, or listening to music.
Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Ruth Marie (John) Manfield, his nephews, David Glover and Drew Glover, his uncle, Royce Jarret, and his cousins, Elaine Lyman, Edwin (Linda) Jarret, and Kathy Pech.
Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers, Ernest Paul Glover, and David Harold Glover in infancy.
In celebration of Gordons life, a funeral service will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, at 11am on Thursday, March 20th, 2025, with a visitation from 10am until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Avondale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
