Glenn Yuill Obituary
Glenn Alexander Yuill
1943-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Alexander Yuill, after a 3 year courageous battle of pulmonary fibrosis. He passed away peacefully at the Carleton Place District Hospital March 12,2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Glenn was the beloved husband of is wife Gail(Buffam) for 62 years, a cherished father to Tracey Gemmill, Darryl Yuill (Cindy Closs), Tanya Yuill and Derek Yuill (Christine McDaniel). He was a one of a kind Poppa to Hanna-Lee, Jennifer, Jeffery, Keefer, Alyssa, Darian, Dustin, Dillon, Denver, Brandon, Chiara, Brooke, and Tristin. A much loved grandfather to his many Great grandchildren. To his sister-in-law laws and brother in laws, nieces and nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Blanche Yuill and his brother and sister-in-law,Robert and Ann Yuill.
Glenn was well known by all in the community for his endless devotion to family, friends and volunteering to the Hopetown Cemetery and Hopetown Community Center and lending a hand whenever he could. Throughout his life he took pride in working hard each day as an Auto Body Foreman and after retiring, driving a school bus in the Perth and Almonte areas for both the high school children and public school children.
He truly enjoyed the laughter of children and the many stories shared with family and friends. His passion was spending time at the cottage on Clyde Lake, greeting friends visiting, constantly finding things to fix, sitting by a campfire listening to guitars playing, marshmallows roasting , fishing, going out on their pontoon boat, and 4 wheeling. He loved being outside, making maple syrup, playing cards with friends and deer hunting.
Special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Laskey, for her guidance, patience, knowledge, friendship and being there night and day. Natalie, Jasmine, July and all of the staff at the Carleton Place District Hospital for all their kindness and care. A special thanks to John (Monty) Montgomery and Steve Sweeney for their endless devotion, a shoulder to lean on, an unforgettable friendship and the many hours of help given.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations to the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in memory of his name are greatly appreciated.
