With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Glenda Margaret Mohammed (nee Aerstin) who was called home by our Heavenly Father on February 16, 2025, at the age of 79. She lived with an open heart, a boundless spirit, and an unwavering devotion to others.
Born in Trinidad, Glenda carried the warmth, vibrancy, and joy of her island roots throughout her life. She enjoyed Soca music, played the steel pan, and loved Carnival, embracing the energy, colour, and celebration that came with it.
At age 34, she launched a 30-year career as an obstetrics nurse. Her warmth, compassion, and steady hands reassured mothers and families in their most vulnerable moments, and she found immense fulfillment in the work she did.
A devout Catholic, she lived her faith every day through kindness, service, and her unwavering trust in God. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League, where she found purpose, sisterhood, and a way to give back to her community.
A loving mother, devoted wife, cherished grandmother, and lifelong caregiver, Glenda gave her all to the people around her. She was a friend to everyone she met, always ready with a warm smile, a helping hand, and words of encouragement.
If you knew her well, she was never afraid to speak her truth. She had strong conviction, the kind of honesty that made you reflect, and a humour that made you laugh, and no matter the conversation, you always knew her words came from a place of love.
A breast cancer survivor and fierce fighter, she showed us all what it means to face challenges with grace, strength, and unshakable courage.
Glenda is survived by her spouse Rudy, her children Francine (Gary), Nicole (John), and Tony (Nellie) and her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth and Grace, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her siblings Franklin, Hazel, Candy and Petal with whom she shared an exceptionally close bond. She was preceded in death by her brother Gene. She was deeply connected to her sisters-in-law and extended family by marriage, cherished her community, and maintained many close friendships that lasted a lifetime. Their love and support were a constant source of strength and joy throughout her life.
