Gladys Jettie Carruthers
Peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Villa, Cornwall on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Gladys Carruthers (nee McLaughlin) formerly of Crysler at the age of 101. Dearly beloved wife of the late Delburn Carruthers. Loving mother of Ruth Pollock (Wayne), the late Hugh Carruthers (Sharon) and also loving mother to Helen McBain (Stan). Predeceased by her brothers Ken, Ralph, Charlie, George, Bob and Milton McLaughlin and by her sister Mildred Hillis. Sadly, missed by her grandchildren; Megan Crooke (Jeffrey), Beth Pollock (Thorin Gault), Adam (Lesley Howse), Kristen Rolland (Chris), Stefanie McBain (Matt Eades) Steven McBain (Vanessa) and 11 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
Friends may call at the Morewood Presbyterian Church in Morewood, on Thursday, May 1, from 10am until the time of the service at the Church at 11am. Donations to Morewood Presbyterian Church would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift “please notify the family”. Arrangements entrusted to the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home Chesterville. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com. The family would like to thank all the staff at both the Garden Villa and St. Joseph’s Villa for the wonderful care while Gladys was in their care. Also, a special thanks to Pauline and Linda, words cannot express how grateful we are.
