Giuseppina was a pizza maker in Windsor and was instrumental in establishing Windsor’s reputation for being the best pizza in Canada in the 1960s and 1970s. Every person who entered her home would be immediately asked “mangiaste” as she loved to cook and feed people. She had a green thumb. She was passionate about curating her flowers, growing delicious veggies and her herbs that she would use in teas and cooking. Giuseppina was a person of resilience and determination. She believed in forgiveness, love of family, and the power of prayer. She left a legacy in her family teaching them the importance of taking care of the elderly and of those who needed help. It was her faith, belief in Jesus Christ that guided her decision in life as she always asked herself what is the right thing to do. Many seeked her for her guidance and wisdom in life’s challenges.
The family wants to thank many for the support that they received in order to allow Giuseppina to age gracefully in her own home: Ontario Health at Home; nurses of Victoria Order of Nurses (VON); Hospice staff; her family doctor and his staff, Dr. Dave Scarfone; Hospice doctor, Dr. Steven Rukavina; and the personal support workers from Paramed.
