Obituary of Gerd Dieter Huhle
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family patriarch, Gerd Dieter Huhle on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 83. Gerd was an exceptional and beautiful man who epitomized kindness, understanding and generosity and will be dearly missed by his family and the many people whose lives he deeply touched. Gerd Huhle, beloved husband of Elly (nee Brandmaier) for 63 years. Loving and treasured father of Sandra Angelika Slessor nee Huhle and loving and caring grandfather of Alexander James Slessor and Erik Connor Slessor (Maddy).
Gerd was a devoted family man throughout his life and his unconditional love for the family was professed all the time and all his life. He also enjoyed sports, especially soccer and squash, and loved to view and share the beauty of the world around him which led to his passion, photography.
Gerd was born in Munich, Germany where he was a renowned photographer that earned him recognition in the German Museum. As a young man he immigrated with wife Elly to Toronto, Ontario where he continued his photography and later opened a studio on Yonge Street in Toronto. He retired at his lake house at Lake Scugog enjoying gardening and appreciating nature. Rested at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171).
