It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerard Robert Flood, who left us on March 16, 2025. A devoted husband, loving brother, cherished uncle, and dear friend to many. Gerry is survived by his beloved wife, Lilian, his twin sister Sophia (Paul), and his younger sister Karen (Tom). Gerry was predeceased by his older brother Fred (Lana). He also leaves behind his half-sisters Cindy and Stephanie and nephews Paul Jr., Christian, Gerry Jr., Tommy, Peter, Everett, and Chris, as well as his niece Randi and loved his many other nieces and nephews. He shared a very special bond with grand-nephews Nikolas, Mathew, Walker and Hendrix, and grand-niece Katie.
Gerry was a fun-loving and spiritual soul who dedicated his life to bringing joy to others. Always ready with a joke—whether it landed or not—he found happiness in making people smile. His warmth, generosity, and kindness were unmatched.
Gerry’s faith in Christ was the foundation of his life. He lived his beliefs daily through acts of service, encouragement, and unwavering trust in God’s plan. His family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace, embraced by his Savior’s love.
Gerry was a man of many talents. He began his career as a cable disconnector at Rogers Cable before becoming a Certified Accountant and working his way up to Controller. He later earned his broker license and built a successful brokerage business, working with top-tier firms. As a broker and financial advisor, he found his true calling, eventually becoming VP & Senior Investment Advisor at TD Waterhouse. Gifted with numbers and deeply dedicated to his clients, Gerry was known for his meticulous handwritten records of bets and stock trends.—though only he could decipher them.
Gerry had a lifelong passion for sports betting and horse racing, sharing countless adventures and trips with friends at the track. At home, he treasured quiet moments with Lilian, watching their favorite shows and simply enjoying each other’s company. She was the love of his life, and his greatest wish was always for her happiness. Above all, Gerry was devoted to his family. He adored his nieces and nephews and played an active role in their lives, offering guidance, humor, and unconditional support. His kindness and generosity will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched.
Rest easy, Gerry—may the odds forever be in your favour. We will “Keep The Faith.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army or The Terry Fox Foundation, two charities Gerry supported throughout his life.
