It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of
Gérard Durant, 81 years old, on the morning of February 3,
2025 at the Faubourg du Mascaret after a long illness. Born in
Moncton, he was the son of late Joseph and Dora (LeBlanc)
Durant.
Gérard was a kind, loving and talented man who
suffered a life-altering TBI mid-life yet still managed to remain
good-humoured through it all. He never complained, never lost hope and
kept his fun-loving sense of humour up to the very end.
Beloved husband of Bernice (Cormier) and loving father to his
three children: Pierre, Janice and André (Jodi), he also
leaves in mourning his granddaughter Ariel, his sister Eileen Ouellet
(Ben), his brother Bob, his sister-in-law Claudette Grant (Steven),
his brother-in-law Roland (Kathy), as well as many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings Donald, Micheal (Ethel),
Phyllis Kenny (Jack) and Jocelyne Stevens (Arnie).
We wish to thank the staff at the Faubourg du Mascaret for
their care during his last months.
It was Gérard’s wish that there be no
funeral or visitations. In memory of Gérard, a contribution
to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in
the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre,
Moncton (506-858-1900).
