Gerald Letandre Obituary
Gerald Roy Letandre (Jerry) passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025 at the age of 68 after a brief illness. Jerry was born and raised in Pinaymootang First Nation. He was an avid
runner and cyclist and would often cycle to Birds Hill as it was one of his favorite places. He competed in many biathalons and marathons including one in the desert of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting activities, always in the stands cheering them on. He cherished his grandchildren who meant the world to him and he to them. He could light
up any room he walked into with his smile and his one of a kind laughter. Jerry was a hard working man and dedicated to all that he did in his life. Despite his many responsibilities he always made time for his family and his passions. His fatherly love was like no other. He was a humble man of integrity, sincerity, kindness and generosity. He had a heart of gold and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. This was easily seen with the many dear friendships and colleagues he made in his life. Occupationally, Jerry worked with Comstock construction on transmission lines as a young man.
After which time he attended the University of Manitoba for a couple years. Jerry liked working more than being a student and attained summer employment with Manitoba Hydro. Academia
turned into a career at Manitoba Hydro that would expand for 32 years until retirement. He ended his career in maintenance with Deveraux Properties. Manitoba Hydro was the vessel for
Jerry and Sandra- these two souls to spark an everlasting love. Jerry is lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra, daughter Tara Letandre (Kelly), stepdaughter Holly Bell, stepson Jeff Bell (Julie), grandchildren Marisa, Kaden, Chase, Eric, Kalei, Faith, Vienna, Sarah, Megan, Joshua and great granddaughter Violet. Siblings, Shirley Cranford(Gene), John Letandre, Alan Letandre (Rita) and
He is predeceased by his parents Louis and Mary Letandre, brothers, Harvey, Sherman, Gordon, and Lorne Letandre. Although Jerry’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
A sacred fire was lit to help guide his spirit home. The family would like to thank all the fire keepers.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and staff at E6 of St.Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care they provided Jerry.
