Peacefully on
Saturday, February 8, 2025, the passing of Georgina Marion Dewar (nee
Dingwell) age 82, loving and devoted wife of the late Preston Dewar,
occurred at the Riverview Manor with family by her side. Born in Mt.
Hope, PE, October 6, 1942, daughter of the late Hardy C. Dingwell and
Margaret (nee Deveau) Dingwell.
Survived by son
Blair Arthur Dewar; brothers, Eddie Dingwell, Dennis Dingwell (Cindy);
sister Betty Ann Gallant; brother-in-law Dr. Charles Dewar; cousins
and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Arnold Alexander Dewar
in infancy; 2 siblings in infancy; mother and father-in-law, Hazel
Ruth MacNeill Dewar and Henry Ward Beecher Dewar; sisters-in-law, Dr.
Vera Dewar, Flora Dewar (nee Wallace), Francis Ruth Dewar;
brother-in-law Abner Dewar.
Georgina was very
well known in the community, school teacher for many years, bookkeeper
for Dewar & Nelson Potato farms as well as a town councillor
for Brudenell.
Resting at Ferguson Logan
Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from
4 to 7 pm. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025,
from Montague Christian Church at 2:00 pm followed by interment in the
Brudenell Cemetery.
Donations to the Brudenell
Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
